Migraine Mondays

Monday: A word that I have always hated. It was the start of the school week, the regular work week, the day that usually had the worst television shows on when I was a teenager. It was the one day each week where I would blast "Manic Monday" from the Bangles as it tried to drown out the sorrow in my voice. As I have gotten older, I started to call this dreaded time of the week "Migraine Monday": I used to think that the weekend was sped up by an evil do-gooder just so Mondays would make its appearance sooner. I thought this do-gooder was the ruler of a rapid time space continuum of hell.

The last few weeks have provided me with a better liking for Mondays: My hubs has had Tuesday off. On these Mondays, I have been able to think about in just a few short hours, I will be able to spend an entire day with him instead of watching him drive off to work. Unfortunately, these Tuesdays aren't filled with us loading up the minivan and driving to some exotic location the US Plains has to offer us....unless you count us loading up hampers of dirty mentionables and driving across town to a prefab laundromat and then later doing other tedious adult responsibilities. It's not exactly the day I dream about having every week but spending time with my husband makes up for most of it. Besides spending a few hours doing laundry, we are also going to the admissions center for our local public school system; we want to see what we need to do to get Munch enrolled.

I am going to try and happily end tonight, curing my Monday by watching one of my favorite shows, House. It seem that I have been prescribed a double dose of Hugh Laurie's blue eyes, one scruffy chin, and 50 milligrams of fake American brogue.
